Qantas has announced an update to its international network from March 2024 with a new route and introduction of the Qantas Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Hawaii for the first time
The national carrier will launch a new route between Sydney and Port Moresby, operating two return services per week with a Boeing 737 aircraft. The route joins the airline’s daily service between Brisbane and Port Moresby. Flights will operate on a Monday and Friday.

Qantas will also introduce its Boeing 787 Dreamliner to its Sydney-Honolulu route for the first time, operating in place of the Airbus A330, offering customers the choice of Economy, Premium Economy or Business on the popular leisure route.
This update comes ahead of Qantas’ resumption of flights to Shanghai on Sunday for the first time in more than three years, the final destination to return to its pre-COVID network. The launch of three new routes between Brisbane – Wellington and Honiara with Qantas and Tokyo (Narita) with Jetstar.
Qantas flights between Sydney and New York via Auckland will increase from three to four per week.
Jetstar flights between Brisbane and Auckland will increase from four times per week to daily.
Qantas’s larger Airbus A330 aircraft will replace the Boeing 737 on daily flights between Sydney and Bali.
Qantas will add frequencies on routes between Melbourne and Hong Kong, Singapore and Los Angeles.
Qantas will also double frequencies to Tokyo, increasing from 14 to 28 per week, offering the choice of four daily flights between Japan and Australia from 26 November.
