This is an ongoing post in a series updated every month or so, detailing easy ways I know of to earn Qantas points – for free, or near to that. If I’m missing any, please do let me know and I can continue to add to the list. If I’ve missed noticing that one has ended, also please let me know.
Qantas Frequent Flyer Account
You have one of these right? If not, time to get with the program – the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program, that is! The standard claim is that they cost $89.95 $99.50, but there are links all over the internet for free sign ups to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. If the link doesn’t work, have a look at other ways to get a free Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership.
Qantas Wellness App bonus
Part 1: Easy way to earn 150 Qantas Points? Download the Qantas Wellbeing App – enter the code ENH6UL if asked – to download and log into the Qantas Wellbeing App. Complete your first challenge – and the points are yours! Part 2: Just for sleeping (yes, sleeping!) you can earn points, as well as for walking, running, swimming or cycling! Even if you’re not signed up for their insurance, the free points tick on up!
Qantas Wellness App Affiliate
All you need to do is invite your friends to download the Qantas Wellbeing App using your referral code, once they start using it, you’ll earn 150 Qantas Points for each one. With the potential to earn points for referring up to 20 friends, you could boost your points balance with an extra 3,000 Qantas Points a year.
Qantas Points Promoter
Qantas has released a Chrome/Firefox browser add on called the Qantas Points Promoter. Use it to get told when you’re on a website where you can earn Qantas points, and for it also to show in your Google search results, which sites can earn you points too. Also, the first 5,000 people to download/install it and use to purchase apparently get 500 bonus points too.
Globus
Earn Qantas Points with the Globus family of brands. With an incredible variety of tours and river cruise itineraries to choose from, your perfectly suited adventure awaits, full of discoveries and insights. Discover dream holidays with premium inclusions with Globus, Cosmos and Avalon Waterways. Earn 1 Qantas Point per NZ$1 spent with Globus and Cosmos and earn 2 Qantas Points per NZ$1 spent with Avalon Waterways.
Qantas Travel Money
Going overseas? Qantas Travel Money / Qantas Cash lets you earn up to 5,000 points when loading currency onto a travel card. And sometimes Qantas runs bonus rounds of 3x points for every dollar you add, so if you time it right you can really add up the win!
Woolworths
Do you shop at Woolworths? Get an Everyday rewards card. Then log into the website and connect it to your Qantas FF Account. You’ll earn 1 Woolworths Point for every $1 spent on eligible purchases at Woolworths, BWS, BIG W and selected Caltex and Caltex Woolworths Every 2,000 Woolworths Points reached will convert to 1000 Qantas Points and transfer immediately.
Red Planet Surveys
Don’t mind filling out some surveys? Most take 5-25 min and get you free points. At the time of writing I’ve earned over 49,000 points from doing this.
Kogan
In time for the latest Black Friday, Christmas or one of the many other sales Kogan has? Before you buy, login to your account and link it to your QFF account as well. Free points!
Qantas Hotels
Going away soon? You can earn 3 points per $1 spent on hotel bookings made through Qantas Hotels, via their online service that also offers no booking fees.
AirBNB
Not a fan of hotels and prefer the AirBnb style accommodation? You can earn 1 point per $1 spent on accommodation through the portal.
Qantas Insurance
Do you have the Qantas Wellness app (see above) but not earning enough points? Want more? Get your insurance (health, travel) through Qantas Insurance, earn points for paying your premium, often bonus points for joining, more points in the wellness app, and if you use our referral code (enh6ul) for Health Insurance – an extra 5,000 points on sign up with a premium of >$40 a month. Pretty sweet!
Travel Insurance
Qantas now does travel insurance! Choose from an Annual Multi Trip plan for frequent travellers or single trip Comprehensive plan for travel overseas. Can also earn up to 3,000 points depending on your policy chosen.
Qantas Wine
This is an amazing way to earn points sometimes. By default, you can earn 1 Qantas Point for every $1 spent. If you’re a Qantas Wine Premium member, you can earn 3 Qantas Points for every $1 spent. But the best is when they have specials – keep an eye on this page for the best promos – earn up to 20,000 points on a case!
Subscription to Qantas Wine
You can also earn up to 150,000 bonus points by signing up for a Qantas Wine Subscription!
Offset Carbon
Give back to the environment, and earn 10 points per dollar spent on carbon offsetting of your flights. Qantas will also match your carbon offsets, dollar for dollar.
BINGE Watch TV
Sign up to BINGE streaming, and customers who sign up to BINGE Standard or Premium will earn 1000 bonus points on sign-up, plus 50 each month (including the first month).
Returning BINGE customers who resubscribe to BINGE Standard or Premium can earn 50 points for every month subscribed.
Bing Lee
Electronics up your alley? You’re probably going to want to price check on Bing Lee – they offer between 1 and 2 points per dollar spent when you click through from Qantas Shopping.
Zip Now, Pay Later
Now you can enjoy Qantas Points as well as flexible repayments when you Zip it. Zip is a fast, secure and easy way to get what you need today and repay it on a schedule that suits you, interest free.
- Book your flights using Zip and enjoy the flexibility to pay later. Plus, you’ll earn 1 Qantas Point for every A$3 spent on qantas.com when you link your Qantas Frequent Flyer number in the Zip app before you check out with Zip.
- New to Zip? Earn 3,000 bonus Qantas Points when you sign up to Zip via this link and activate your Zip account, link your Qantas Frequent Flyer number in the Zip app and complete your first purchase within 90 days of activation.
- You can also earn and transfer Zip Rewards to Qantas Points simply by linking your Qantas Frequent Flyer number. Once linked, you can select Qantas Points as your redemption option and earn 500 Qantas Points every time you reach your Rewards Goal.
Gift Cards – Netflix, Apple and more
This is a small amount of effort, often for easy gain. Ever looked at Woolworths where they sell gift cards to an app store, or streaming service (hello Netflix!), for example? If you use those, time to get some more points. Buy the gift cards for say, a $50 Netflix top-up, since you’re paying for Netflix anyway, and earn Everyday Reward points, which convert to Qantas points if you set that up. If you time it right, Woolworths has promos where you can earn, say, an extra 1,000 points (500 Qantas) for spending $50. Easy!
Uber
Qantas Frequent Flyers can earn Qantas Points by requesting an Uber using the Qantas app for trips to or from eligible Australian airports. Frequent Flyers will earn one, two or three points per dollar spent depending on their status. Plus, members who link their Uber and Frequent Flyer accounts through the Qantas app earn an additional 2,000 Qantas Points on their first Uber ride anywhere in the country. BankWest bank accounts
Australia’s first QFF points earning bank account – the Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account lets you earn Qantas Points on your purchases and account balance. Earn 0.3 points per $100 in your account each month, plus earn 3 points per eligible purchase using your card. You can also earn 5 points every time you withdraw cash from an overseas ATM.
Earn Points When You Use Points
Use your Qantas Points to book a Points Plus Pay – Flights when your itinerary includes an eligible Qantas (QF), Jetstar (JQ), Jetstar Asia (3K) or Jetstar Japan (GK) flight number, and you’ll earn Qantas Points and Status Credits, just as you would with a cash fare. Conditions apply.
Qantas Activities
Choose from over 10,000 hand picked activities and tours in 800 destinations around the world, and earn Qantas Points on them when you do!
Share Trading
– Earn up to 10,000 Qantas Points when you open an IG Share Trading account and place 10 trades on their award-winning platform. – ANZ Share Investing customers can earn 1 Qantas Point per AU$3 spent on brokerage fees on shares, ETFs, interest rate securities, warrants and options.
Going on a Cruise
Add a voyage to your journey with Qantas Cruises and earn 1 Qantas Points for each $2 spent. All major lines are there – such as Royal Caribbean and P&O Cruises.
Qudos Home Loan
If you get a home loan with Qudos, you can earn 150 Qantas Points per annum for every $1000 of your loan balance, credited monthly.
OneWorld flights
You know Qantas is part of a worldwide airline alliance, right? Well they are, and it’s called OneWorld. If you fly with other members of this alliance (eg British Airways, Malaysia Airlines, American Airlines and more), you could be eligible to earn points on Qantas! To work out how many points you could earn, check out the earning table.
Other partner flights
Other airlines that aren’t part of OneWorld still can sometimes earn points on Qantas – have a look at their partner list (eg Alaska Airlines, American Airlines) and see if there are more flights that might suit you to earn points.
While Sleeping
Earn 1 point per $1 spent across the entire Forty Winks range, plus use your points to reward yourself with leading brand mattresses, bedroom furniture and more, online and instore.
Family transfers
Ever a bit short, or need to top up your partner’s account a few points to get that upgrade? You’re allowed to make a transfer of 5,000-600,000 points once every 12 months.
Online Shopping at Qantas
One of the most easily forgotten but useful tips. Buying the new Apple device? Shopping books for Christmas? Login to the Qantas mall first, then link to the shop, and earn points as you shop! Booktopia, David Jones, General Pants, Apple, and many more…
Small group Tours with Intrepid
With Intrepid, you earn 1,000 Qantas Points when you spend $1,000 or more. Some of their last minute tours earn you 4,000 points!
Car Insurance
Part 1: Up to 20,000 points for joining Qantas Car Insurance. Part 2: If you have the Wellbeing app (see above), you can earn points for doing some simple surveys/checks on your vehicle and recording it in the app.
Need some petrol?
Earn up to 2 Qantas Points for every litre of fuel, and 1 point per $1 of purchases at BP stores.
Hello Fresh
Subscribe to a weekly HelloFresh box, and earn up to 20,000 Qantas Points (up to 2,000 points on each of your first 10 HelloFresh boxes). Simply enter the promo code QANTAS20K at the checkout to be eligible.
Taxi?
Earn Qantas Points for taxi rides! Earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on fares when you book through the GoCatch app. Or book through Ingogo and earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on trips by taxi. Other options include Qantas Drive for a chauffeur to the airport or Qantas Valet Parking for 3 Qantas Points per $1.
Pet Sitting
Seriously. Going away and need your doggy looked after? Earn 500 Qantas Points^ for your first Mad Paws booking made via Qantas, AND earn 1 point per A$1 spent^ on every following booking.
Transferring from an airport?
Qantas and Viator help make your journey to or from the airport even smoother with a private car, coach or transfer in over 280 destinations worldwide. Book your airport transfer with them and Qantas Frequent Flyers can earn 1 Qantas Point per A$1 spent.
Electricity
You’re using electricity reading this right now. Why not earn points from Red Energy – Earn up to 15,000 bonus Qantas Points when you sign up, plus earn 2 points for every A$1 you spend on your energy bills, when you pay on time.
Movie watching
Movies are an incredibly easy way to earn a few extra points. Earn up to 2 Qantas Points for every A$1 spent on tickets and treats by linking your Hoyts Rewards card.
Riding trains
You can now earn Qantas points riding The Ghan, the Indian Pacific and the Great Southern – incredible journeys across Australia, earning 1 point per $1 spent.
Gift Vouchers
You can buy gift vouchers to spend on Qantas flights, for yourself or others, AND earn points while you do so!
Earn Qantas Green Status
In order to earn Qantas Green status, all you have to do is complete at least 5 of the following 6 activities in a single membership year:
- Flying
- Offset flight emissions through Qantas’s Fly Carbon Neutral program
- Traveling
- Book a stay at any of Qantas’s eco-accredited hotels in Australia through Qantas Hotels
- Sustainable Purchases
- Choose from a selection of over 200 sustainable wines through Qantas Wine or offset deliveries from just $1 with either Qantas Wine or the Qantas Rewards Store
- Lifestyle
- Install solar panels or help support verified home- or car-emission offsetting programs in Australia or worldwide
- Reducing Impact
- Giving Back
- Contribute to organizations such as OzHarvest, UNICEF, Kimberly Land Council, or organizations that work to protect the Great Barrier Reef
Once Green status has been achieved, members will get to choose from 1 of the following 3 rewards:
- 10,000 Qantas Points
- 50 Qantas Status Credits
- 3 tons of carbon offsets purchased by Qantas on the member’s behalf

You can earn 1 point per $1 spent with Beechwood Homes, with no upper limit!
Qantas Points Club
The refreshed Qantas Points Club allows travellers who earn more than 150k points in a year (see methods above) to get extra ways to earn status credits and points – one such deal was a double status credits offer exclusive to Points Club members.
Underwear? Socks? Other clothing from Bonds
If you use the Points Prompter, you’ll notice you can log in and earn 5 points per $1 spent at Bonds Online.
Double Dip!
When you buy something from one of Qantas’s partners and pay using Qantas Travel Money or a Qantas Points earning credit card, you’ll often earn twice!
Watch Sport
Enjoy watching cricket, AFL, league or other wonderful games? Kayo Sport has offers of up to 1,500 points for a new subscription, and ongoing monthly earnings too.
Luxury Escapes
Ever been to this site just to drool at the amazing destinations? (cough) Me neither (cough). But book with them and earn Qantas points too!
Luxury Womenswear
If you’re looking to dress to the nines, and Camilla & Marc is your type of chic, you’d better be earning 4 points per $1 spent on your wardrobe. Treat yo’ self!
Transfer from American Express
The American Express Ascent Premium Membership Rewards program, available on the American Express Platinum or Centurion cards allows you to transfer points to Qantas. Ideally, wait for a transfer bonus to appear and then you might be getting an extra 15% in Qantas Points along with your points balance.
Personal loans
For a limited time, you could earn between 10,000 and 110,000 Qantas Points with a new NAB Personal Loan. That could be enough to fly a couple return from Melbourne to Singapore on an Economy Classic Flight Reward for 100,800 Qantas Points plus $588 in taxes, fees and carrier charges.
Sports Gear
Earn 5 points per $1 spent at Onsport – choose from thousands of sports, fitness and outdoor products from some of the biggest brands, including Nike, Fitbit, Garmin, Lorna Jane, New Balance, 2XU, Puma and more. You can also use Qantas Points on your transaction for all your sport and fitness orders at Onsport.

Qantas Frequent Flyers earn 4 Qantas Points per A$1 spent within Australia; and 700 Qantas Points per rental outside Australia on Avis. See the link for details.

Qantas Tours
A new addition to the Qantas Holidays product range, Qantas Tours will allow travellers to book travel experiences designed to showcase the best of each destination with planning and logistics managed by expert tour operators.
Qantas Tour packages include Qantas or partner flights, premium accommodation and detailed itineraries led by a local guide. The range includes a luxury island getaway in the Maldives and Sri Lanka, a southern Italy sojourn, a Balkan river cruise, Egyptian getaway, a tour of the highlights of Japan and more.
Qantas Frequent Flyers can choose to earn three Qantas Points for every dollar spent on their Qantas Tour booking
Earn Points Fuelling Up on Food and Fuel in New Zealand
If you’re holidaying in NZ, make sure to pick up a free Countdown/AA Smartfuel card, and link it to your Qantas Points! When shopping at Countdown (basically Woolworths) or fueling up at BP, you can earn more Qantas Points just for getting around/surviving! They also support over 1200 retailers, but these are two easy ones to grab!
Trading Shares on Superhero
Superhero is an online platform that allows you to invest and trade in Aussie companies, U.S. companies, ETFs and earn Qantas Points.
When you sign up to Superhero and link your Qantas Frequent Flyer account, you’ll start earning 100 points per trade on Aussie shares, as well as 1 point per US$5 transferred from AUD. No limit!

Comedy, Gigs, Concerts..Ticketek!
Qantas and Ticketek have partnered so from March 2024, members can use points to buy tickets, and also earn points on tickets purchased!
The Accent Group
That name may not be immediately recognisable, but from November 30, 2023, members can earn two Qantas Points per dollar spent by scanning their digital Frequent Flyer card at their more than 670 footwear and apparel stores around Australia, including The Athlete’s Foot, Platypus, Skechers, Stylerunner and Hype DC!
Get Expired Points Back!
Panicking because your points have expired? Don’t worry (yet) – as long as you contact Qantas support within six months of your points expiring, the Qantas Points Challenge will let you reinstate all of your expired Qantas points – as long as you earn 2,500 Qantas points within three months – and earning 2,500 Qantas points in 12 weeks is very doable (see list above).
