On the assumption you have Qantas Points, and have done your best to earn points in every way you can, you’ll wantto be sure you don’t lose those points. And be aware, this has happened to many Qantas customers who haven’t read the small print.
In the current covid-19 climate where perhaps you aren’t flying as much as you used to, you’ll want to still protect that frequent flyer balance. You may not be aware that your Qantas Frequent Flyer points actually expire after 18 months of inactivity.
Don’t panic, however! You don’t need to go jump on the next flight to save them. All you have to do is earn a single point to count as ‘active’ during any 18 month period. Any time you have activity (ie earn a point) the clock starts again.
To check your points activity, consider the Qantas Airways App, or the Qantas website where you can see your points earning activity over the past 12 months. Make sure there’s something there!
So, now it’s been close to 18 months and you need some points quick? Again, try our list of ways to earn points fast. But the easiest ways to earn just a few points include :
- the Wellbeing app (earn points every day from just walking!)
- Qantas Wine (there are often bonuses for buying a special collection or set of wines)
- Woolworths – just by shopping, you can earn but it takes reaching a certain balance to be able to transfer. Every time your Everyday Rewards points balance reaches 2,000, you’ll see 1,000 Qantas Points land in your Frequent Flyer account in the next 24 hours.
It’s really quite simple to earn these automatically (especially the free-to-use Wellbeing app), so consider setting some of the methods up now to cover yourself for the future!
Happy earning!
