Updates to Qantas Frequent Flyer Program: More Benefits and Rewards in 2025!

Qantas Frequent Flyer has announced a series of significant updates and improvements to its loyalty program, set to enhance the flying experience of its members starting in 2025. With more ways to earn points and an expanded selection of reward seats, Qantas is stating this helps in rewarding its loyal customers like never before.

Earn More Points on Every Flight

Starting in 2025, Qantas Frequent Flyer members can look forward to earning up to 25% more points on domestic flights. This update includes the removal of the earn cap for tiered members traveling in premium cabins, ensuring that every flight is even more rewarding.

Enhanced Reward Seat Availability

Qantas is increasing the availability of Classic Reward seats by up to a million, including Premium Economy seats with Finnair, Air France, KLM, and Iberia for the first time. Additionally, a new partnership with Hawaiian Airlines expands options for members to travel using their points.

Key Program Changes

  • Adjustment in Points Requirement: For the first time in six years, and only the second time since 2004, Qantas will adjust the number of points required for Classic Rewards and Classic Upgrades.
  • Increased Cash Component: The cash component for Business and First Classic Reward seats will be aligned with Classic Plus, reflecting the enhanced value offered by these options.

Reward Seat Highlights

  • Jetstar Economy Rewards: The lowest Economy Reward seat available on Jetstar short-haul domestic routes is now starting from just 5,700 points.
  • Business Class Upgrades: Significant adjustments in points requirements are highlighted by the increase from 27,200 to 32,600 points for a one-way Business class ticket from Sydney to Perth.

What’s Staying the Same?

  • Existing Tier Benefits: There will be no changes to the existing tier benefits, ensuring that members continue to enjoy their current privileges.
  • Status Tier Eligibility: The criteria for status tier eligibility, including the required Status Credits, will remain unchanged.

Final Thoughts

These updates are designed to provide more value and flexibility to Qantas Frequent Flyers. By enhancing the ability to earn and use points and expanding the options for reward travel, Qantas is trying to demonstrate its commitment to its members. Are you convinced?
