Inspired by the shorter RTW itinerary on ozbargain a few weeks back, I’ve spent some time writing a script to try and find RTW flights like this, which also include Japan.
So basically, to appropriate and tweak what was described in the other post…
You basically pick a destination you want to go in europe out of the following list (Manchester, London, Paris, Barcelona, Zurich, Milan, Rome, Munich, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Amsterdam, Copenhagen). then add a segment of say Rome to New York, then choose one of the following cities in United States to Tokyo, Japan (Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles) and then from Tokyo back to your source city.
To that end, be aware of the following caveats:
- some legs are on low cost carriers
- sometimes the layovers might be weird or long
- it’s a mix of airlines, so check their conditions carefully
